In the title complex, [Cu(C3H4N2)(C10H11N3)2](ClO4)2, the CuII cation has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by a CuN2N′2N′′ donor set. The imidazole ligand is disordered over two orientations of equal occupancy. Two of the perchlorate ion sites are located on a twofold rotation axis, and one of is disordered over two sites of equal occupancy. In the crystal structure there is a two-dimensional infinite network of hydrogen-bonded molecules parallel to the ab plane

We consider the following prescribed boundary mean curvature problem in BN\mathbb B^N with the Euclidean metric Δu=0-\Delta u =0, u>0u>0 in BN,uν+N22u=N22K(x)uN/(N2)B^N, \frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu} + \frac{N-2}{2} u =\frac{N-2}{2} K(x) u^{N/(N-2)} on SN1,whereS^{N-1}, where Kispositiveandrotationallysymmetricon is positive and rotationally symmetric on \mathbb S^{N-1}.Weshowthatif. We show that if {K}hasalocalmaximumpoint, thentheequationhasinfinitelymanypositivesolutions, whicharenonradialon has a local maximum point, then the equation has {\bf infinitely many positive} solutions, which are non-radial on \mathbb S^{N-1}$.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:0804.4030 by other author

    Neural-Hidden-CRF: A Robust Weakly-Supervised Sequence Labeler

We propose a neuralized undirected graphical model called Neural-Hidden-CRF to solve the weakly-supervised sequence labeling problem. Under the umbrella of probabilistic undirected graph theory, the proposed Neural-Hidden-CRF embedded with a hidden CRF layer models the variables of word sequence, latent ground truth sequence, and weak label sequence with the global perspective that undirected graphical models particularly enjoy. In Neural-Hidden-CRF, we can capitalize on the powerful language model BERT or other deep models to provide rich contextual semantic knowledge to the latent ground truth sequence, and use the hidden CRF layer to capture the internal label dependencies. Neural-Hidden-CRF is conceptually simple and empirically powerful. It obtains new state-of-the-art results on one crowdsourcing benchmark and three weak-supervision benchmarks, including outperforming the recent advanced model CHMM by 2.80 F1 points and 2.23 F1 points in average generalization and inference performance, respectively.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, accepted by SIGKDD-202

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu2Cl4(C15H14N4)2], contains two halves of two centrosymmetric dinuclear molecules, A and B. The conformations of the two crystallographically independent molecules are slightly different: in A, the Cu⋯Cu separation is 4.174 (9) Å and the dihedral angle between the triazole and phenyl rings is 74.23 (11)°; these values are 4.137 (9) Å and 68.58 (13)°, respectively, in B. In each molecule, the copper(II) ions have a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal coordination geometry with a CuCl2NN′N′′ chromophore. The crystal packing exhibits weak intermolecular C—H⋯Cl interactions

Evaluation of the CALIPSO Lidar-observed particulate backscattering coefficient on different spatiotemporal matchup scales

The satellite lidar-derived ocean particulate backscattering coefficient (bbp) has rarely been validated globally with in situ observations, and we need to understand how well the satellite CALIPSO lidar bbp approach performs. Whether lidar bbp performs better in terms of observation accuracy compared to passive ocean color remote sensing has yet to be evaluated for detailed validation. With the continued deployment of the BGC-Argo float array in the global open ocean in recent years, data have accumulated with a total of 42,932 particulate backscattering coefficients (bbp) from 2010 to 2017, allowing for a finer spatial and temporal scale evaluation of the performance of the CALIPSO lidar-observed bbp. We evaluated the performance of CALIPSO-retrieved bbp products using the data detected by the BGC-Argo floats at 12 spatiotemporal matchup scales and discussed the differences in product performance at various interannual, seasonal, and spatial scales. We compare lidar, float, and ocean color bbp at the same locations and times and find that lidar bbp outperforms ocean color data. We also analyzed the key conversion factor β(π)/bbp at different spatial and temporal scales and found that there was a seasonal difference in the optimal conversion factor

Clay flocculation effect on microbial community composition in water and sediment

Clay-based flocculation techniques have been developed to mitigate harmful algal blooms; however, the potential ecological impacts on the microbial community are poorly understood. In this study, chemical measurements were combined with 16S rRNA sequencing to characterize the microbial community response to different flocculation techniques, including controls, clay flocculation, clay flocculation with zeolite, and clay flocculation with O2 added zeolite capping. Sediment bacterial biomass measured by PLFA were not significantly altered by the various flocculation techniques used. However, 16S rRNA sequencing revealed differences in water microbial community structure between treatments with and without zeolite capping. The differences were related to significant reductions of total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP) and ammonia (NH4+) concentration and increase of nitrate (NO3-) concentration in zeolite and O2 loaded zeolite capping. The relative abundance of ammonia oxidizing bacteria increased four-fold in zeolite capping microcosms, suggesting zeolite promoted absorbed ammonia removal in the benthic zone. Zeolite-capping promoted bacteria nitrogen cycling activities at the water-sediment interface. Potential pathogens that are usually adapted to eutrophic water bodies were reduced after clay flocculation. This study demonstrated clay flocculation did not decrease bacterial populations overall and may reduce regulatory indicators and pathogenic contaminants in water. Zeolite capping may also help prevent nutrients from being released back into the water thus preventing additional algal blooms

Abstract

Background

The swine influenza (SI) is an infectious disease of swine and human. The novel swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) that emerged from April 2009 in Mexico spread rapidly and caused a human pandemic globally. To determine whether the tremendous virus had existed in or transmitted to pigs in southern China, eight H1N1 influenza strains were identified from pigs of Guangdong province during 2008-2009.

Results

Based on the homology and phylogenetic analyses of the nucleotide sequences of each gene segments, the isolates were confirmed to belong to the classical SI group, with HA, NP and NS most similar to 2009 human-like H1N1 influenza virus lineages. All of the eight strains were low pathogenic influenza viruses, had the same host range, and not sensitive to class of antiviral drugs.

Conclusions

This study provides the evidence that there is no 2009 H1N1-like virus emerged in southern China, but the importance of swine influenza virus surveillance in China should be given a high priority.</p
